DisneyWorld Day 3- 1st November

Today was a sleep-in day after last night's Halloween Party!! We had breakfast at the Whispering Canyon Cafe downstairs. Then later on we went to EPCOT!!! Epcot is the land of tomorrow with technology based attractions.

First of all we went to see Pluto! As we were lining up Pluto had to leave as he needed some water and treats.
Then we set off to "The Land" as we had FP+'s to Soarin'. There was a bit of a mix-up with our FP+'s as the original time was 4:35-5:35 but Dad changed them to 12:30-1:30 and the time that Dad had changed it to didn't show up on the system so that took a while. But eventually they worked and we went on Soarin'. I thought it was ok because we had seen it all before on Soarin' Over California from DisneyLand, 3 years ago. Soarin is a simulated hang glider type ride where you are taken up in the air in the low light in a chair lift type bench seat.  Then a large screen shows certainn places in California and it gives you the feeling that you are soaring through these scenes.  In some scenes wind rushes by your face and smells are released to give you the feeling that you are in that area soaring above those locations.

After that we went on the Living with the Land which was too educational for my likings and after thst the lady said that it was made for adults!! Living with the Land showed how over time humans have used and abused the land.  They used the land for farming and agriculture and sometimes they knocked down trees to make things that polluted the environment. We also saw an American Farmhouse adn what the land was like before the farm and after the farm.  Inside the Farmhouse was a history of the farming of the USA. At the end of the farmhouse it showed some ways that you could help the environment and after that you went into Disney Environmental Experiment labs where they experimented by using certain types of plants and grew them using different methods.  Some of these were with recycled water, restricted sunlight hours and growing vertically.

Then we went and saw the Circle of Life an Environmental Fable. This was Timon and Pumbaa wanting to build a resort type wilderness village in the African Savannah by which they stopped the water from flowing down stream to other animal. Simba came up to get a drink and he got splashed as they were doing construction work by effectively daming the stream.  He told them a story all about how us humans have gone from using the circle of life and that they should allow other animals to use the circle of life.  Simba told Timon and Pumbaa that they were like humans in developing things which destroyed the circle of life.  So once he explained this to them they realised and broke the dam to allow the stream to flow freely.  This again had a very strong environmental message and we were encouraged to recycle, reduce and reuse.

The next ride we went on was Mission Space which was a simulated rocket launch to Mars where each one of the riders is either navigator, pilot, commander or engineer.  You can choose either Orange which is intense or Green which is non-intense one and we chose the green one and were the only ones in our ride so we had to go without a engineer but we made it to Mars and back.  I thought this ride was pretty good.  I was the pilot and that was fun.  I was a little nervous before the ride but when on it, it was fun.

After our wonderful day at Epcot we headed off to Saratoga Springs which is another resort from which we could catch a shuttle bus to Downtown Disney where we had a dinner reservation at Planet Hollywood.  As we walked in to Planet Hollywood there was a green screen and a photographer.  You stood in front of the screen and got your photo taken which you could then buy later after they had imposed a back ground in the photo.

Just as our food came out I felt a little sick like I was going to vomit but I didn't.  So Mum took me to the bathroom and then outside for some fresh air.  We went back in and Dad and her finished their dinners but I didn't eat anything as I still felt unwell.  Mum then took me outside for some fresh air and I did start to feel a bit better.  After this we headed off back to our lodge.

As always; REPORT and have fun on your next holiday!!
